How far we have come since that statement was made. The fact that it was made by a Republican president shows just how far the Republican Party has come in agreeing with the Democratic wing of the "Status Quo Party" in Washington, D.C. Republicans join right in with Democrats in expanding the federal government's reach into the domain of private property.
