News Release-Farm Rally

COLUMBUS, OH - John McAlister, the Libertarian Candidate for U.S. Senate challenged Mike DeWine, who supports the proposed Darby Wildlife Refuge, to appear with him on the stage at the Farmland Rally this Saturday September 2nd. “I would like to ask Mr. DeWine why he thinks it’s important for the federal government to be buying up more land to put under federal control when the federal government can’t even manage the land they have,” said McAlister.

He referenced the terrible forest management that has resulted in massive fires in Montana. “What will Columbus west side residents think when the Fish and Wildlife Service starts burning off 25,000 acres of prairie grass?” McAlister encouraged DeWine to re-read the Constitution and "explain to the farmers who will be impacted by this massive federal land grab where in the Constitution he finds justification for his actions.”

The Fish and Wildlife Service wants to buy up 50,000 acres in Madison and Union Counties. The Farm Rally to be held at JAN-DAL Farms, 3815 Lafayette Plain City Rd., London, OH is expected to attract people from Nevada and every western state as well as people from all over the Midwest.

A convoy sponsored by the Paragon Foundation, www.paragonpowerhouse.org, started in Elko, Nevada on Aug. 24 and arrives in London, Ohio on Sept. 2 for the Darby Farmland Rally, sponsored by Stewards of the Darby (SOD), www.nodarbyrefuge.org. The goal is to join East and West in a demonstration of support for natural resource production and private property rights.
