DeWine sides with Big Spender Ted Kennedy on health care spending

COLUMBUS, OH - John McAlister, the Libertarian Candidate for U.S. Senate, challenged Mike DeWine to stop siding with big spending Democrats like Ted Kennedy on health care programs. "DeWine is no different than Democrats when it comes to spending our money as Washington sees fit," said McAlister who is a health insurance agent. In an article DeWine posted on the League of Women Voters website, dnet.org, DeWine said the federal government needs to spend more money on improving children's health and well being.

McAlister said, "If Mike DeWine wants to team up with Teddy Kennedy to decide what's best for America's health care then why doesn't he just join the Democratic Party and stop calling himself a Republican. I don't think Washington politicians have any more insight on what's best for our children no matter how much they try to entice us with the carrot of federal give-away dollars and the stick of federal taxes that take control away from individuals and private organizations."

McAlister posted his own comments about healthcare on the LWV website, dnet.org. In stark contrast to DeWine, McAlister would like to see the federal government get completely out of the nation's health care system.
